Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion:

Our Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion assist the priest with the distribution of Communion.  any adult parishioner in good standing in the Catholic Church is invited to serve.  Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion may choose the Mass time they wish to serve and are scheduled about once every three to four weeks.  Training is provided.

Our outreach Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion bring the Holy Eucharist to all Catholics in the local area who are unable to attend Mass.  Please call the Parish Office at 795-2613 to arrange for visits to those who are at home, The Madrid Home or The Cedars. 

 

Lectors:

Lectors proclaim the Word of God in the first and second readings of the Liturgy of the Word.  Any adult with good oral communication skills is invited to participate.  Lectors may choose the Mass time they wish to serve and are scheduled about every three to four weeks.  Training is provided. 

 

Altar Servers:

Altar Servers assist the priest at the altar during the Mass and at various other liturgies.  Boys and Girls fourth grade and up are encouraged to serve at the Saturday, 4:00 pm and Sunday, 9:30 am Masses and on Holy Days.  Altar Servers may choose the Mass time they wish to serve and are scheduled about once every four weeks.  Training is provided.

 

Ushers:

Ushers help to welcome the gathering assembly.  They assist with seating, collect the monetary offering, and bring the collection forward during the Preparation of the Gifts.  Ushers may choose the Mass time they wish to serve and are scheduled about once every four to five weeks.  There are no regular meetings, but Ushers should arrive approximately 15-20 minutes before Mass.

 

Greeters:

Our greeters help to bring a spirit of warmth to the members of the gathering assembly by welcoming them at the doors of the church.  Greeters also distribute the weekly bulletin after Mass.  Greeters may choose the Mass time they wish to serve and are scheduled about once every four to five weeks.  There are no regular meetings, but the Greeters should arrive approximately 15-20 minutes before Mass.

 

Gift Bearers:

What an honor it is to carry the wine and hosts to the priest at Mass for consecration.  What an honor it is to participate in Mass by being a Gift Bearer and representing God's people and the parish community.  Gift Bearers may choose the Mass time they wish to serve and are scheduled about once every four to five weeks.  There are no regular meetings, but the Gift Bearers should have a honest desire and willingness. 

 

Sacristan:

The Sacristan is the minister who has overall responsibility for the sacristy.  The primary responsibility of the Sacristan is to prepare the worship space before Mass in preparation for the Eucharist.  The Sacristan also ensures that all participants of the Mass from the Altar Servers to the Lectors to the Eucharistic Ministers are present and prepared to participate.  Sacristans may choose the Mass time they wish to serve and are scheduled about once every four to five weeks.  There are no regular meetings, but the Sacristans should have a honest desire and willingness.
